Place a glass jar in a pot of boiling water. Melt 1 Tbsp beeswax, 1 Tbsp shea butter, 1/2 Tbsp coconut oil, 1/2 Tbsp almond oil, 1/4 Tbsp local raw honey and a few drops of Vitamin E oil. Whisk well….honey is difficult to blend. Pour into empty lip balm tubes and let cool completely before use. You can also add essential oil if you want more flavor and scent. I did not. I like the natural honey flavor. Getting it into the tubes is a little tricky. I tried a medicine dropper and it didn’t work. I’d suggest a small funnel and do it while still hot. Love this stuff! Even used old “princess” tubes of lip balm cleaned out for some for my girls.
Place a glass jar in a pot of boiling water. Melt 1/2 cup olive oil, 1/4 cup coconut oil, 1/4 cup beeswax, 2 Tbsp shea butter, 1 tsp vitamin E oil and any essential oils (I used approx 1 tsp almond extract for scent). Once melted and mixed well, store in a tub like container. This isn’t your typical pump bottle lotion. You must scoop it out for use. But it’s worth it! Wonderful stuff!
Ok, so here is one of my new recipes I’ve tried and feel is worth making and replacing your regular old aluminum deodorant. Start off with a glass jar, and place it in a pot of just boiling water. Melt 1/2 cup coconut oil, 1/2 cup shea butter, and a heaping 1/2 cup beeswax. Once melted, remove from heat and add 1 tsp vitamin E oil, 1/2 cup arrowroot powder, 3 Tbsp baking soda and 3 probiotics (open the capsule and sprinkle in). Mix it all well, and just as it starts to set up, use a spatula to place it into old clean deodorant containers. This recipe filled up 3 for me. Let it cool and set up for a good 24 hrs before using. Enjoy!
